VS is committed to protecting the birds and chickens here in the USVI from avian influenza.  Regular surveillance testing is essential to keeping poultry and pet birds’ safe and detecting disease early.  Testing is quick and easy and involves simply swabbing the throat of the bird. It is not painful or invasive. VS will continue this program on a monthly basis throughout the year in St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John.We encourage all owners to call and schedule testing for their birds.
